    Legal Basis for Data Processing

    In accordance with Article 13 GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) we inform you about the legal basis of our data processing. Inasmuch as the legal basis is not explicitly mentioned in our privacy policy, the following applies: Article 6 (1) lit. a and Article 7 GDPR serve as the legal basis for processing operations for which we obtain consent. Article 6 (1) lit. b GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing operations necessary for the performance of a contract, provision of services, or responding to requests. Article 6 (1) lit. c GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing operations necessary for compliance with a legal obligation, and Article 6 (1) lit. f GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing operations necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests.

    Security Measures

    In accordance with Article 32 GDPR, and taking into account the state of the art, the costs of implementation and the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing as well as the varying likelihood and severity of the risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, we implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, including inter alia:
    the pseudonymisation and encryption of personal data; the ability to ensure confidentiality by control of the physical access to the data, as well as the related data access, input, transfer, availability and segregation. Furthermore we have implemented procedures to ensure erasure of data and response to data breach risks. Moreover, we consider the protection of personal data already in the development and choice of hardware/software/processes, in accordance with the principles of data protection by design and by default (Article 25 DGPR).

    ANALYTICS TOOLS AND THIRD-PARTY TOOLS

    When visiting our website, statistical analyses may be made of your surfing behaviour. This happens primarily using cookies and so-called analytics tools. The analysis of your surfing behaviour is usually anonymous, i.e. we will not be able to identify you from this data. You can object to this analysis or prevent it by not using certain tools.

    WP Statistics

    For the purposes of our legitimate interests (i.e. analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online services pursuant to Article 6 (1) lit. f GDPR), we use the plugin WP Statistics (https://wp-statistics.com) on our website. This is a tool for internal statistical analysis, the data remain on our server in Germany. It can be used e.g. to count the number of visitors to a website article. The statistics are based on the information collected during the visit to the website. To ensure user privacy, the user IP address is anonymised before being stored in the statistics.

    Our e-mail newsletter is sent by the technical service provider CleverReach GmbH & Co.KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede (“CleverReach”), to which we pass on your data provided during the newsletter registration. This disclosure is made in accordance with Art. 6 (1) point f GDPR and serves our legitimate interest in the use of an effective, secure and user-friendly newsletter system.
    The data you enter for Newsletter subscription (e.g. e-mail address) will be stored on CleverReach’s servers in Germany and Ireland. CleverReach uses this information to send and statistically evaluate newsletters on our behalf.
    For evaluation purposes, the e-mails sent contain so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which represent single-pixel image files stored on our website. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked on. With the help of the so-called conversion tracking, it can also be analyzed whether a pre-defined action (e.g. purchase of a product on our website) has taken place after clicking on the link in the newsletter.

    In addition, technical Information is recorded (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). The data is exclusively raised in a pseudonymized format and is not linked with your other personal data to prevent you from being identified.
